The chown command changes the file owner and group through the command line.

Change the owner of file

You will learn how to change the owner of file.

1) List the file to learn owner and group name

ls -l

2) Owner name: pi

3) Group name: pi

4) Change the owner as a root

sudo chown root results.txt

5) List the file again

6) Owner name: root

7) Group name: pi
